It was in 1996 when JCS Chemical Industries Incorporated came to be. Cosmetics, household and industrial cleaning agents and similar products were its primary products. Manufacturing and distribution seemed profitable then but later, proved otherwise.
Equipped with some experience for some years running GSD Marketing -an affiliate company, gave the owners a glimpse of a more lucrative undertaking for JCS. At the helm of both companies, Dr. Jerry C. Valdez, DVM, no stranger from the ins and outs of the animal industry carefully shifted the latter to manufacture and distribute local counterparts of the more saleable yet pricey branded imported feed additives like antibiotics, soluble powders, oral solutions and disinfectants for swine and poultry operations.
JCS has gone a long way since it started in 1996 when it used to manufacture and distribute industrial chemicals like cosmetics, detergents, and other similar household products. Because of stiff competition from multinational corporations, JCS shifted to antibiotics, vitamin and mineral feed premixes, soluble powders, oral solutions and suspensions, and disinfectants for hogs and poultry.
Today, JCS is also the appointed Philippine distributor of some foreign companies.
However, it is still on the lookout for potential business ventures with foreign suppliers that can provide supplemental products to the company’s existing products in order to offer its clients a more complete product line.
JCS counts among its clients some of the country’s biggest commercial hog and poultry producers, as well as feed mills.
Because of increasing demands, the company further strengthened its technical department to back up its sales force.
Also, the company embarked on a major promotional campaign to launch its over-the-counter (OTC) line of products in response to the needs of the lucrative backyard animal raising sectors which includes game fowl, small animals and companion pets. Over-the-counter products, as the name suggests, are designed in small packs and sold through dealers and pet stores for greater accessibility.
But what does JCS really stand for?
It is noteworthy that the three letters stand for “Jesus Christ, our Saviour,” because the ways of the Lord serve as guide in the company’s operations and undertakings. And to the stockholders and employees of the organization, this has more to do with their success than anything else.
